Consultation
The Virtuous Scientist Project has supported two consultations to date. These consultations had a specific structure where the emphasis was on reflection and discussion by participants. Moreover, the consultations were organized with a specific goal in mind.
Intellectual Virtue and Science Education
This consultation purposely addressed the interesting intellectual space represented by the intersection between virtue epistemology, epistemic cognition, and science education. In discussing that intersection between these disciplines, the intent was to establish whether and how intellectual virtue could be promoted in science education at colleges and universities.
Intellectual Virtue and Introductory Biology
This consultation focused discussions on the how intellectual virtue could contribute to the development of a unique Introductory Biology sequence of courses. Through those discussions, the intent was to establish whether intellectual virtue could provide an appropriate framework for those courses.
